Who We Are

Our mission :

Secretly Y’all is committed to bringing people together through the art of storytelling.  We believe that while our differences make life flavorful, similarity of experience and the ability to share these connect all people.  Our primary goal is to support everyone who has a story to tell and those who like to listen.

Secretly Y’all, founded in November of 2009 by Lauren Russo, Rachel Vogus and Leslie Channel, is a storytelling organization that encourages people to tell true stories in front of an audience.

Originally based in Charlottesville, Secretly Y’all moved to Richmond, Virginia in September of 2010.  Events there are led by Lainie Gratz, Kathleen Brady, and Colin King and take place at Balliceaux Restaurant. Find information on the Richmond location here.

Any stories? (PG rated, I hope!)

I gotta million of ‘em on meditation and what-not. (Ok, maybe a dozen, but I like hyperbole.)

I’m in a storytelling guild in Staunton and am very interested in your events. Please put me on your mailing list so I can let our group know about upcoming events, especially the one in Sept.
    Keep up the good work!

Have been a storyteller for a long, long time…
part of Tell Tale Hearts here in Richmond. Would like to more about who you are and what you do…and if my joining would be something of interest…
Any chance we could talk on phone or do a face to face? E-mail so so impersonal…

    Thanks.

      Hey Carolyn,

Thanks for the interest! I’m sure we’d all love to meet an experienced teller like yourself. We will be having an open call for stories on the 5th of September at Lamplighter in Richmond. Feel free to stop by and meet us, tell us about some of the stories you tell, or to chat with us face to face. Please check back for more details. We’re really excited to be coming to Richmond!
